Boats & Equipment

We dive from inflatable boats which drop us on the dive site and then pick us up after surfacing, so no long surface swims back to the boat! We travel to the dive sites quickly and safely. Dolphins also love our boats! Each of our boats are powered with NEW, twin Yamaha 85hp engines and they are equipped with marine radios to enable communications both between boats and with our bases. Each boat also has a Garmin GPS to ensure precise and accurate drops on dive sites.

One Response to “Scuba Do”

Scuba diving can be major fun and a lesson to be learnt at the same time. The Lloyd Bridges sea hunt is known for the sport and is popular on television. Imagine watching the kingdom of the sea, with sharks and fish of every color and species, not to forget the multiple limbed octopuses staring at you as one make an entrance to their world, the eels as well giving one a blank dismayed looked as to what you are doing there. Those with the passion of going deep down under into the kingdoms of the watery unknown depths would know the pleasure of scuba diving as what one would associate with the thrill and excitement of men like Marco Polo or even the space shuttling astronauts. Grappling in and out of the waters of the wild sea with a wet suit in black and a face mask for protection with a knife and a foot long blade, one would love to check and find the availability of sharks as the first reaction. A couple of them ranging in a twenty foot size would be curious enough to come along and be a guide to their kingdom and if felt uncomfortable with their presence you can shoo them off with the knife wags.

In the modern world snorkeling and scuba diving is a fun activity that millions across the globe enjoy and mind you it is big bucks for many. The fear of being devoured is less and the want to appreciate the deep waters is growing in leaps and bounds. Sharks can be dangerous but only in places they consider their territory and easily avoided by the curiosity of man. On the other hands timid creatures like octopuses and eels make a comfortable friend down below. You don’t have to be from the macho tribe to snorkel and scuba dive, no matter what your age scuba diving can be enjoyed by all, even if you are a centenarian.

From the early days of scuba diving there have been major changes when it comes to gear for diving and the technology has been improved and is ay far better than what used to be. One of the best improvements has been that of the Inflatables. With time of eco preservation and conservation, governments the world over have put up stringent action and penalty points for those who go deep down scuba diving without the need for it. This is a good idea since the life below is as much disturbed as the life above, thanks to the invasion of mankind everywhere. Hence the best way to check the kingdom below would be to use the boat and the concept of Inflatables is the best designed for the scenery exploration below.

Snorkeling and scuba diving both are easy with Inflatables other than boats of the convention order. It is impossible to use a canoe, dinghy, small rowboats or even a motorboat for a dive, lest you want to be a victim of capsizing or instability on the surface of the water. A large boat on the other hand can be quite high sided and cumbersome without the help of a swim platform to dive and snorkel. For swimmers and snorkeling enthusiasts the boarding ladders are apt however for a scuba diver with loads of equipment twice his weight can be a difficult task to board the ladder. Now on an inflatable the freeboard space is minimized and the snorkeler or the divers gear can easily be removed while he or she is still in the water. In short for a big ladder a bigger boat is needed.

Swimming, snorkeling and even diving seems to be hazardous when one uses a small boat, since the boat can pound and hobnob in the midst of the sea injuring all on board not forgetting the diver who suffers the most. Inflatables on the other hand do not pound away and stay clam on the surface of the water at all times, even when the on boarding of a diver is happening, so no injuries and no fatal deaths happening. The diving platform on an inflatable is any day better than that of a Boston Whaler or even a Donzi. An Avon can accommodate two people with gear while a Zodiac Mark II can do the same for six on board, with the Achilles for a capacity of four plus gear and supplies. Research shows that the diving gets better with the inflatable growing bigger, but if you take an RIB down to dive then the platform to jump needs to be there or it could prove quite a twist of fate. On an ideal boat day out a 40ft HBI embed with 200hp is the best for diving into the Great Barrier Reef or the Blue Hole of Belize for underwater exploration and adventure.

Scuba divers need to tow a float wearing the flag of a diver or they wouldn’t be allowed to dive in most places. The inflatable takes care of that since its weight and resistance on drag fits the bill.
